Agar

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 10 years

The owner of this handsome dog has left. Unfortunately, no one in the family can take care of the dog. We urgently need to find him a new loving home. This is a Scottish Terrier who is 10 years old. Neutered, vaccinated against rabies. The lady took very good care of him – he has a beautiful pedigree... until she became ill. Health: overall condition is very good, only takes thyroid hormones. He is a large dog, almost 40kg. In his home, he was a couch potato, lived in a house with a garden. He didn't have much contact with other dogs and cats – we don't know how he will behave. He had occasional contact with children. We are looking for a home where he can be a couch potato – just like he was for the last 10 years of his life. A home with an open heart, patient and loving. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: 1. Fill out the adoption questionnaire. Adoption Questionnaire 2. In this case, several meetings with the dogs and a pre-adoption visit will be mandatory. 3. Sign the contract and hand over the dog. For any questions, please call or write:

About Agar

What life with Agar looks like

Agar is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Agar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Agar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Agar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Agar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Agar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Agar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Agar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
