, FAX -24DI - FR , SA 10 - 13 Uhr _Slider 350 © Tine Steinthaler Intelligent, unabhängig, selbstbewusst und clever. I prefer to make my own decisions, but I will listen to you if you make a good suggestion. We are partners in this adventure of life. BESONDERE FELLNASEPlan sufficient get-to-know-time! Our female Rottweiler was born in 2018 and is neutered. In her previous home, there were only a few clear rules, so she has learned to control many situations and make independent decisions. She is very clear and honest about what she wants and what she doesn't. She is an extremely vigilant and territorial female dog who consistently defends resources. This includes, but is not limited to, her sleeping spot, her crate, food, toys, or even her muzzle. She gladly takes on responsibility for her environment and watches it attentively. At the same time, she brings a lot of work enthusiasm and shows motivation when offered clear tasks and structures. She can be stubborn and requires a sovereign, consistent leadership. On the leash, she runs very pleasantly and knows how to wear a muzzle without a problem. We are looking for a single place with dog-experienced people who can assess her characteristics and enjoy working with a strong-willed dog. With a sovereign male dog, we can imagine joint walks. Living with other animals is not an option. Children should not live in the household. This female dog does not seek a family that wants a uncomplicated cuddle dog, but people who respect her clear instructions, provide security through leadership, and channel her strengths into the right direction. In the right hands, she will be a loyal and impressive companion. Your donation will be used appropriately and frugally. Please support us with the purchase of food donations! Address and how you can best find us. Stay up-to-date with our e-mail newsletter!

About Aika

What life with Aika looks like

Aika is a senior rottweiler dog waiting at TIKO Tierschutzkompetenzzentrum in Klagenfurt.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aika, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aika?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TIKO Tierschutzkompetenzzentrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aika on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aika if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TIKO Tierschutzkompetenzzentrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aika already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aika isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TIKO Tierschutzkompetenzzentrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aika and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
