adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Ajax has found a home! His story: Ajax currently lives in the Public Shelter in Baia Mare and is waiting there for his chance to arrive. Together with his siblings, he probably hasn't had a proper home yet and doesn't know what it's like to be a family dog. It is therefore very important that Ajax finds people soon who will give him security, patience, and loving guidance. At around 8 months old, Ajax is about 61 cm tall and is likely in the middle of puberty. He is developing into a handsome, young male dog with great potential. Shelter conditions have made him cautious and insecure in new situations – loud noises, unfamiliar routines, or new impressions quickly unsettle him. At the same time, however, Ajax is rather open-minded, allows himself to be touched, and shows interest in people. His insecurity is not a lack of character but a completely normal reaction to the barren and stressful shelter environment. With his soft, black fur with white markings on his face, chest, and paws, Ajax is a particularly beautiful young dog who makes a great impression not only on the outside. In a quiet, understanding home, he will have the chance to unfold and gradually gain security. Of course, Ajax still doesn't know what life in a house is like. House training, leash manners, and daily routines must be taught to him gently. Right now, in the pubertal phase, he will need people who are patient, give him clear orientation, and accompany him lovingly but consistently. After an appropriate adjustment period, Ajax will greatly benefit from attending a positively working dog training class. This can help him develop security, strengthen his self-confidence, and build a stable bond with his people. For Ajax, we wish for a home with empathetic, calm people who don't overwhelm him and give him time to settle in. People who enjoy accompanying a young dog on its journey into adulthood and also remain reliable by his side in uncertain moments. Who will give Ajax the chance he so deserves? For the handsome Ajax, we wish for a family that meets him patiently and lovingly and gives him enough time to find his footing in the new situation. We thank the namingsponsor Drea Ni for giving the wonderful Ajax its name. As of: 23.11. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations. This animal is vaccinated.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 23.11.2025

About Ajax

What life with Ajax looks like

Ajax is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ajax, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ajax?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ajax on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ajax if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ajax already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ajax isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ajax and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
