Alaska und Mario

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Alaska und Mario were found alone on the street in the spring, presumably just in time for the holidays … The two Beagles, brother and sister, are approximately two years old as of May 2026, and currently reside at the animal shelter El Buen Amigo in Andalusia. There, they show every day that they are not only a harmonious double act on the outside but also fit together wonderfully in character. Anyone who observes them quickly notices that they are closely connected. They offer each other security, orient themselves to each other, and appear as a small, charming household on four legs. For this reason, we would like to place Alaska und Mario only as a pair. Separating them would take an unnecessary toll on the two, because their close bond is not just a nice side note but an important part of their lives. Character-wise, Alaska und Mario bring everything that one would note on the basic equipment list of a "friendly family dog." Both are outgoing, open, and people-oriented without being pushy. They approach their surroundings politely and appear pleasant and uncomplicated. Of course, they are Beagles and are not known for spending their lives in quiet meditation. They bring a good dose of curiosity, enthusiasm for movement, and attention for anything that smells, rustles, or sounds interesting. At the same time, they show themselves to be very social and approachable at the animal shelter. They get along well with their four-legged roommates. Currently, they live in a pack of five dogs, with male and female dogs, and are living harmoniously. They also meet unfamiliar dogs with respect and friendly curiosity. They do not push to the front, seek no conflict, and seem to have understood that in social interaction, one does not always need to be the loudest voice. For Alaska und Mario, we wish for people who enjoy bringing two young, friendly, and social dogs into their lives and giving them a secure home together. Their new environment should have the understanding that even very nice dogs need time to adjust, can learn things, and need to get to know their new daily routine. For those who choose this duo, they get double company, double charm, and very likely double the attentive noses on every walk. With Alaska und Mario, they also bring two dogs who give each other support, get along well with other dogs, and bring warmth with their friendly nature. They are not a turbulent chaos commando but a well-coordinated pair with good social skills and a sympathetic character. In short, Alaska und Mario are two young Beagles who belong together and want to start a new life together. Whoever gives them this chance gets two very lovable companions who already show how beautiful cohesion on four legs can look.

About Alaska und Mario

What life with Alaska und Mario looks like

Alaska und Mario is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alaska und Mario, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alaska und Mario?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alaska und Mario on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alaska und Mario if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alaska und Mario already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alaska und Mario isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alaska und Mario and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
