Albi

Mixed Breed · Male

Albi STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY Albi is our beautiful boy, and this handsome lad is quite the character. He arrived in our care as part of the big intake of 62 cats, and he is just full of love and life. Albi is a super playful boy who absolutely loves his toys, especially balls and anything involving catnip! He has plenty of energy and loves having things to keep him entertained, but he is just as happy when it’s time for some attention from his people.☺️ He loves to have a fuss made of him and enjoys his pets and scratches. He’s also incredibly inquisitive and loves to explore, so there’s never a dull moment when Albi is around. You’ll often find him investigating what’s going on and making sure he hasn’t missed anything! Albi has also discovered something he never knew he was missing — home comforts. Fluffy beds and blankets are a new luxury for him and his friends, and it’s lovely seeing him enjoy these simple comforts. 🥹 With his playful, affectionate and inquisitive nature, Albi really is such a lovely all-rounder. He has so much personality and love to give, and we think he would make an amazing addition to a family or a wonderful companion for someone looking for a fun-loving boy to share their home with.❤️ We’d love to see Albi find a home where he can continue to enjoy all the things he loves, plenty of playtime, lots of fuss, cosy blankets and, most importantly, a family of his own. 🏡🐾

About Albi

What life with Albi looks like

Albi is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Albi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Albi?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Albi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Albi if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Albi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Albi isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Albi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
