Adopt Alpi

Male · Puppy · 3 months

Alpi and his brother Crocus were likely abandoned. Both came into the care of our Hungarian partner shelter. Alpi, with his short fur and beautiful tiger stripes, is still very playful as a puppy and needs to learn everything. At three months old, he already has a shoulder height of approximately 42 cm. When fully grown, he will likely reach a height of around 60 cm. We don’t know which breeds are in him, but a greyhound is probably one of them. For the sweet pup, we wish for a consistent family that is ready to attend puppy school with him. So that he doesn’t lose his social contact and his people can learn how to teach him the puppy basics and get rid of the fluff that comes with a young puppy, children in the new home should already be well-established. His new family should be full of energy and active. In the right hands, the little one will surely become a dream dog that brings a lot of joy to his family. As always, we remind you that a dog from the international animal shelter needs time, patience, and a loving welcome. New impressions, new routines, and new bonds should grow in peace. Whoever is ready to walk this path together will be rewarded with a very special connection. Alpi is travel-ready, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has a veterinary check-up. He also has an EU pet passport. The handover could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin, or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with him and want to give him a – forever home –! Kurzinfo: Name: Alpi Rasse: Unbekannt Geschlecht: male dog Unkastriert: ja Alter: 07.03.2026 shoulder height: ca. 42 cm. This is a young, adolescent dog. This animal is not yet neutered/spayed.

About Alpi

What life with Alpi looks like

Alpi is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alpi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alpi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alpi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alpi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alpi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alpi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alpi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
