Adopt Pascha

Male

The 14-and-a-half-year-old Pascha has already had to move to a new home at least 6 times through no fault of his own. Despite this, he remains a kind fellow who loves to be by the side of his people and enjoys taking beautiful walks together. Pascha is friendly with other dogs. Currently, he is living problem-free at one of our foster homes with 4 other dogs in an apartment with garden access. There, he shows that he is house-trained and indicates when he needs to go out. The little one is not a fearful dog; he likes to explore his surroundings and is compatible with other dogs. Although Pascha is old, he still gets around well and wants to experience a lot more. According to his current blood values, his kidney values are below normal, so he should now be given kidney-friendly food. However, the old gentleman does not yet need any medication. For his age, he is still in great shape. If he sleeps very deeply, it sometimes happens that he leaks a little urine. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in older dogs. He handled the car ride to the vet well; it seems he is familiar with car rides. However, our veterinarian has now determined that his heart and liver are significantly enlarged, and she suspects a lung tumor based on the X-rays. This means that his time left on this earth will not be very long. Therefore, we have decided not to look for a seventh home for him but to let him spend the rest of his life in his current foster home. We would be very happy if one or more sponsors could support us financially in caring for this dear fellow.

About Pascha

What life with Pascha looks like

Pascha is a adult dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pascha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pascha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pascha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pascha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pascha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pascha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pascha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
