adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Alvi has found her home! Her story: Zalau, Romania. The little Alvi is waiting together with her sister Hoppi for their journey to happiness. The two puppies were kept on an industrial site and were supposed to guard the premises. Unfortunately, the two girl dogs were too friendly and were therefore not suitable as guard dogs. They were also not regularly fed, and their fur was completely tangled and full of parasites. Our kind local animal rescuer bought the two sisters from their owner to give them a better life. The scruffy Alvi with her small rough nose looks a bit unsure into the camera. But she always seeks contact with humans and enjoys being petted. Whether Yorkshire Terrier or Schnauzer influences can be guessed in her lineage, but only speculation. She will certainly stay small when she reaches her current height of 30 cm and 7 kg. The cute girl could unfortunately not be placed in a local foster family; she currently lives with her sister in a run. The noisy environment is not the best place for the two delicate girls. Alvi is a very friendly and lively little lady who now wants to experience the sunny side of life. The little Alvi is a puppy and has not yet received any training. Accordingly, she needs caring people by her side who are willing to teach her the puppy ABCs and look past the occasional mishap. But with a little patience, a large portion of love, and consistent guidance, all little puppies have managed to overcome these hurdles. A run is certainly not an adequate place for a childhood. Therefore, Alvi should leave this desolate place as quickly as possible and grow up in a loving family. Our little Schnauzer has not yet had the pleasure of sleeping in a cozy dog bed, experiencing beautiful nature walks, or playing with the family. Simply all the wonderful things that could make her life worth living. Alvi will undoubtedly develop into a loving family dog that you will not want to be without. The start of this wonderful life could also begin with a foster family. Alvi will embark on her journey to her new family microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. In her carry-on, she brings an EU pet passport and will travel after a positive Vielen Dank Svenja! You have given Alvi an identity! Date: 20.04.

Vielen Dank Svenja! Du hast Alvi eine Identität geschenkt! Stand: 20.04.2024

About Alvi

What life with Alvi looks like

Alvi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alvi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alvi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alvi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alvi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alvi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alvi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alvi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
