His story: This imposing, charming, and friendly male dog is eagerly waiting in Romania for his chance. Alvin is approximately 3 years old, weighs around 30 kg, and measures 62 cm. He is a quiet and reserved dog who does not rush to meet people but respectfully keeps a distance. He gets along well with other dogs, but whether that also applies to cats, we do not know. Alvin is not yet accustomed to the leash but is making good progress and will learn it with patience. Life in the house is probably unfamiliar to him, and he also needs to be gradually introduced to it. Alvin was found together with another male dog at the gates of the shelter in Fantanele. We suspect that they were driven away by a shepherd or even abandoned. Alvin is likely a herding dog or a HSH mix. This brings with it a few special characteristics and needs that should be known before deciding to adopt him. Herding dogs are not typical family dogs that can be taken out for a walk in the city. They were originally bred to independently watch and protect herds. This makes them independent, intelligent, and sometimes suspicious dogs. Alvin will probably not be the kind of dog who hangs around your sleeve all the time. He makes his own decisions and is used to acting independently. This can make training more challenging. HSH protect their home and family reliably. This is a wonderful trait, but it requires consistent and loving leadership so that Alvin knows when his intervention is needed and when it is not. Herding dogs need space and a safe environment. They are not city-dwelling or office dogs. A house with a well-fenced garden is ideal, preferably in rural surroundings, as they tend to want to control their territory. HSH have thick fur and are used to being outdoors in all weather conditions. They need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation in the fresh air. If you have experience with large, independent dogs, a secure yard, and the right amount of patience and consistency, Alvin could be the perfect dog for you. He will be a loyal and protective companion with a big heart. Seine Geschichte: Dieser imposante, charmante und freundliche Rüde wartet in Rumänien sehnsüchtig auf seine Chance. Alvin ist ca. 3 Jahre alt, wiegt um die 30 kg und misst 62 cm. Er ist ein ruhiger und zurückhaltender Hund, der nicht stürmisch ist, sondern Menschen respektvoll auf Abstand begegnet. Mit anderen Hunden versteht er sich gut, ob das auch für Katzen gilt, wissen wir nicht. Alvin ist noch nicht an die Leine gewöhnt, aber er macht gute Fortschritte und wird es mit Geduld schnell lernen. Auch das Leben im Haus ist ihm vermutlich fremd und auch hier muss er langsam herangeführt werden. Alvin wurde zusammen mit einem anderen Rüden vor den Toren des Shelters in Fantanele gefunden. Wir vermuten, dass sie von einem Hirten vertrieben oder sogar ausgesetzt wurden. Alvin ist aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach ein Herdenschutzhund oder ein HSH-Mix. Das bringt ein paar besondere Eigenschaften und Bedürfnisse mit sich, die man unbedingt kennen sollte, bevor man sich für ihn entscheidet. Herdenschutzhunde sind keine typischen Familienhunde, die man mal eben mit in die Stadt nehmen kann. Sie sind ursprünglich dazu gezüchtet worden, Herden selbstständig zu bewachen und zu beschützen. Das macht sie zu unabhängigen, intelligenten und manchmal auch misstrauischen Hunden. Alvin wird also wahrscheinlich nicht der Hund sein, der dir ständig am Rockzipfel hängt. Er trifft eigene Entscheidungen und ist es gewohnt, selbstständig zu handeln. Das kann die Erziehung anspruchsvoller machen. HSH beschützen ihr Zuhause und ihre Familie zuverlässig. Das ist eine wunderbare Eigenschaft, erfordert aber eine konsequente und liebevolle Führung, damit Alvin weiß, wann sein Einsatz gefragt ist und wann nicht. Herdenschutzhunde brauchen Platz und eine sichere Umgebung. Sie sind keine Stadtwohnungs- oder Bürohunde. Ein Haus mit gut eingezäuntem Garten ist ideal, optimaler Weise in ländlicher Umgebung, da sie dazu neigen, ihr Revier zu kontrollieren. HSH haben ein dickes Fell und sind es gewohnt, auch bei Wind und Wetter draußen zu sein. Sie brauchen viel Bewegung und Beschäftigung an der frischen Luft. Wenn du Erfahrung mit großen, selbständigen Hunden hast, einen sicheren Garten und das richtige Maß an Geduld und Konsequenz mitbringst, könnte Alvin genau der richtige Hund für dich sein. Er wird dir ein treuer und loyaler Begleiter sein, der dich mit seinem großen Herzen beschützen wird. Alvin reist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht in sein neues Zuhause und bringt auch seinen EU-Heimtierausweis mit. Nach positiver Vorkontrolle kann Alvin gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro in sein neues Zuhause ziehen, aber auch eine Pflegestelle wäre ein guter Start in ein neues Leben.
