Amber

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 2 years

Beautiful Amber is searching for her forever home where she can truly shine. This lovely girl has the sweetest nature and is sure to win over everyone she meets with her gentle personality and striking good looks.Amber is currently growing back her fabulous coat after suffering from an allergy, and she's making great progress. With a little continued TLC, good nutrition, and regular grooming, she'll soon be back to looking as gorgeous on the outside as she is on the inside.Amber could live with children and may also be able to share her home with another friendly cat. She may even be suitable to live with a calm, cat-savvy dog who will respect her space and allow her to settle in at her own pace.As an active cat, Amber is looking for a home with access to the outdoors where she can explore, sunbathe, and enjoy all the adventures that come with being a cat. After a day of exploring, she'll be looking forward to returning home to a warm bed and plenty of affection from her family.Despite her small size, Amber has a big personality and would make a wonderful companion for a variety of households. If you're looking for a friendly, beautiful cat with lots of love to give, Amber could be the perfect addition to your family.

About Amber

What life with Amber looks like

Amber is a large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Cornwall Branch in Saint Columb.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Amber, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Amber?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Cornwall Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Amber on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Amber if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Cornwall Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Amber already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Amber isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Cornwall Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Amber and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
