Anni

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Anni (born 05/2020) is a very special dog with her big round eyes, and she quickly wins your heart. She is one of the smaller dogs in Campurelu and quietly waits for someone to understand her language. Anni still approaches people with great caution. She does allow closeness, but as soon as a hand tries to touch her, she pulls back. Even so, she keeps seeking eye contact again and again. Anni is not a panicky dog but rather frozen - insecure, yet very attentive. Anni needs time, calm, and people who respect her boundaries. A safe, structured daily routine and a great deal of patience could help her build trust step by step. What is especially sad: Anni now lives all alone in her large kennel. Previously there were five of them. We do not want her to remain lonely there. And yet there is so much more to her! Anni is fit and moves lightly through her kennel, jumping elegantly onto and off the huts - as if she were only waiting to finally discover her life. For Anni, we are looking for experienced, patient, and sensitive people who will not put her under time pressure. Whether first as a suitable foster home or directly as a forever home, what matters is that she can learn in peace: I am safe. I may stay. Anni is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and after a positive pre-screening she will be placed with a protection contract. Note regarding our dogs: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in conveying as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment - with new people, new routines, and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs open up even faster at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee of any particular behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter - and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Anni

What life with Anni looks like

Anni is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Anni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
