Update 31.07.2026: Anton’s owner has gotten in touch. He’s doing well for his age; his eyes and ears are starting to show signs of aging, but see for yourselves—he’s having a blast on vacation right now. Update 17.08.2024: At 12 years old, Anton still looks fit, and according to his family, he is indeed still quite healthy. We wish them many more wonderful years together. Update 17.06.2022: Anton received a visit from us. The visitor reported: ...a sweet little sugar cube. ❤ Anton is a beloved member of the family there. He’s very well cared for, loved, cherished, and pampered; he’s extremely well-behaved and knows all the important commands—but they’re only called upon when necessary. At home, whether visitors are around or not, he doesn’t have to stay quietly in his bed or otherwise try to go unnoticed; instead, he’s free to join in everywhere and roam around just like any other dog. He’s simply a cherished part of the family—absolutely friendly toward everyone and just an incredibly sweet, well-balanced dog. Update 26.01.2020: Anton’s family is still very happy with him :) Update 03.03.2019: Anton also received a visit from us, and the visitor told us: The family loves Anton very much. He’s found a wonderful home where he’s seen as a dog—and not just as a functional pet. Update 10.04.2018: Anton has moved into his new home, and everything is going really well. Everyone is thrilled. We wish him and his family all the best and look forward to seeing more photos. 26.02.2018: Anton is a white-and-black, neutered Dalmatian male born on June 9, 2012. Anton is looking for a new home because his owners no longer have enough time for him. Anton has had good basic training, but he’s rather an insecure dog who tends to be cautious around strangers. In his own family, however, he’s very cuddly and affectionate. Anton is used to being included in everything. He doesn’t like cats, but with other dogs, he gets along fine—especially with female dogs, though he’ll only accept male dogs if he feels a connection. He travels comfortably by car and stays nicely alone at home without any problems. Anton is therefore looking for a cat-free home with owners who already have some experience with dogs and can guide him through life.

About Anton ist vermittelt

What life with Anton ist vermittelt looks like

Anton ist vermittelt is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at SOS-Dalmatinerrettung e.V. in Neustad.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anton ist vermittelt, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anton ist vermittelt?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS-Dalmatinerrettung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anton ist vermittelt on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anton ist vermittelt if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS-Dalmatinerrettung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anton ist vermittelt already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anton ist vermittelt isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS-Dalmatinerrettung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anton ist vermittelt and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
