Anton

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Anton is simply a big, well-mannered child ❤ He will be the most wonderful friend, companion, and family member. He just needs to find the right person who will see that Anton is THE dog! On the leash, he is always learning to walk. The beginnings were decidedly harder, Anton didn’t control his strength and size, rushing ahead. Now, walks with him can be more pleasant, but with only one walk a week, as conditions at the shelter allow, it’s hard to say he walks ideally. We are teaching Anton to control his emotions, deal with new and unusual situations, and the excitement he shows when seeing both people and other dogs. Anton loves other dogs very much, greets them like a puppy and sometimes forgets that he’s not a little ball but a big, strong boy. Fortunately, Anton gets along with other dogs in a friendly and always social way. He could live in a home with another dog after an initial introduction. Anton knows toys, which might indicate he had a home before. He eagerly runs after them in the shelter play area, but he still can’t bring them directly to a person. We are therefore teaching him to exchange them for other toys or treats. And Anton is a very eager student, showing us this multiple times at the animal shelter. At the animal shelter, he also learned to get into the car and to ride in it. He also learned to climb stairs, which initially gave him trouble. One thing we didn’t have to teach Anton and in which he is perfect is his wonderful relationship with people; his presence occupies a very important place in his life. Anton is a big dog, but it doesn’t bother him to be a collar dog. You can see it in every movement he makes. When we stop, Anton is right by our side. When something upsets him, he seeks our support. When we crouch down, he jumps onto our laps. This is a great foundation for building an unrepeatable relationship. At the animal shelter, Anton underwent neutering surgery. Thanks to this, we know he keeps the shelter clean. Left alone, he doesn’t destroy, doesn’t stretch blankets, and doesn’t vocalize. He also had his first introduction to cats. There was a lot of interest but no hint of aggression. Anton arrived at the animal shelter in the first few days of March 2023. There is very little interest in his adoption, and one could say there is none. But Anton has so many wonderful qualities: he is friendly, gentle, positively disposed toward people, and devoted. He loves unconditionally. And we dream of someone unconditionally reciprocating that love.

Kiedy coś go niepokoi, szuka w nas wsparcia. Kiedy tylko przykucniemy, ładuje się na kolana. To znakomita podstawa do zbudowania niepowtarzalnej relacji. Kocha bezwarunkowo. I marzymy o tym, żeby ktoś bezwarunkowo odwzajemnił tę miłość.

About Anton

What life with Anton looks like

Anton is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anton, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anton?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anton on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anton if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anton already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anton isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anton and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
