adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Anton and Moritz have found a home! Their story: The ginger-tipped Anton and the white-ginger Moritz are still very young and would be overjoyed to have a loving family that can adopt the two kittens together and provide them with a beautiful home. The two came to our foster home when an adult tomcat brought them to an auto wash station, whereupon our doorkeepers on site were contacted. We suspect that the tomcat was their father, who wanted to put his offspring in safety. Fortunately, Anton and Moritz could then be taken in and cared for in our foster home. At first, the two kittens were still very frightened, but over time they became more social and are now even very people-oriented. One can see that they are doing well, as they often purr loudly and are very agile when there is wet food. We do not want to separate the two kittens, so they should be rehomed together. However, they also get along with other cats, so it would be fine if another fellow animal is already waiting for them in the new home. The young toms have already gotten used to apartment living, so they would not be suitable for outdoor cats. They would, however, certainly be happy with a cat-safe netted balcony from which they can explore their new surroundings. Anton and Moritz can start their journey to their new home in August. By then, they will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Additionally, they have already been tested negative for FIV and FeLV and will arrive with an EU pet passport.

About Anton&Moritz

What life with Anton&Moritz looks like

Anton&Moritz is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Anton&Moritz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Anton&Moritz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Anton&Moritz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Anton&Moritz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Anton&Moritz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Anton&Moritz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Anton&Moritz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
