Winny

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

Location/date of finding: ROW/Zeven, Auf dem Praun area, on May 22, 2026. Gender: male. Age: not yet known. Microchipped, neutered, vaccinated. UPDATE July 2, 2026: Winny is now living in a group room. So far, he’s doing well; he has a slightly crooked gaze, which will remain his distinctive feature. He spends time both indoors and outdoors but avoids any contact with humans. Externally, he now appears much more relaxed, and he loves sunny weather. UPDATE June 17, 2026: The day before yesterday, Winny had a vet visit, and since he’s generally already anxious, this naturally didn’t help him relax. But these check-ups are important, and unfortunately, we can’t spare our velvet paws from them. Now you can finally start to relax again, Winny. UPDATE May 24, 2026: The animal had been staying at the location where it was found for some time already. Further information will follow.

Weitere Infos folgen.

About Winny

What life with Winny looks like

Winny is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Winny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Winny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Winny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Winny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Winny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Winny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Rotenburg a.d.F. e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Winny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
