07-09-2016 - Antonietto had removed the stitches by himself, doesn't want a collar and look at how this little one is. Antonietto is a super special cat, when he recovers he definitely deserves a beautiful home. He's very sweet. Thank you to those who help with his veterinary expenses. The cleft palate caused by the major facial trauma from the collision with the car that hit him was closed and he was operated on the humerus, which showed several fragments and a long fracture line along the entire bone. A technique involving the use of an intramedullary nail and a plate was performed. The awakening was good and Antonietto is already purring. Although we are not in a position to take on further debts with the clinics, we had to give our approval. Could we have said no? No. We are still asking for your help, after all it's only thanks to you that we can care for these homeless souls. Thanks to those who will help us. 24-08-2016 - Today Antonietto underwent all the diagnostic tests. X-rays show a fractured humerus, a fractured palate, and a dislocated zygomatic arch. The bladder seems okay. Tomorrow he will undergo further tests and then we will decide on the type of surgery, which must be done as soon as possible. And here we are, because there are always some sums to pay ... We have reached a point where we can no longer afford additional clinic expenses, as the bills to pay have exceeded the limit of common sense. What does it mean? That we cannot take on additional debts beyond those already existing, because at the animal shelter we have almost a thousand souls that must be fed every day and some of them require specific treatments. We have employees to pay, utilities, materials to buy, the clinic to run, and internal veterinarians at the animal shelter to pay. We are a volunteer association that deals with animal welfare, we have an animal shelter and we produce nothing, except love, but this doesn't feed our guys, nor does it help us cope with the large expenses necessary for running this big house. Unfortunately, we don't have a contracted veterinary emergency service, so if you rescue an animal and take it to a clinic, someone has to pay the expenses, that's how it works. Most people turn to us, as we are a simple association that lives only on donations. Clarification needed. The cat is very seriously injured, a broken leg and shock trauma. He is a beautiful male, unfortunately left to roam the streets without any control and with the traffic that there is at this time, this is the fate of too many animals. We hope he can survive. 07-09-2016 - Antonietto monello si è tolto da solo i punti, non vuole il collare e guarda un po' come si è conciato questo monello. Antonietto è un gatto super speciale, quando sarà guarito si merita proprio una bellissima casa. E' dolcissimo. Grazie a chi ci aiuta per le sue spese veterinarie. Si è provveduto a chiudere la palatoschisi causata dal grosso trauma facciale ricevuto nell'impatto con l'auto che l'ha investito ed è stato operato all'omero che si presentava con diversi frammenti e con una linea di frattura lunga tutto l'osso. E' stata eseguita una tecnica che prevede l'utilizzo di un chiodo centro midollare ed una placca. Il risveglio è stato buono e Antonietto fa già le fusa. Clicca sulle foto per ingrandirle! 25-08-2016 - Domani mattina Antonietto subirà l'intervento di ricostruzione, non possiamo attendere un giorno in più, ne va della sua vita. Pur non essendo nelle condizioni di poterci sobbarcare ulteriori debiti con le cliniche, abbiamo dovuto dare il nostro benestare. Potevamo dire di no? Noi ci proviamo ancora a chiedere il vostro aiuto, dopotutto è solo grazie a voi se possiamo curare queste anime di nessuno. Grazie a chi ci aiuterà. 24-08-2016 - Oggi Antonietto è stato sottoposto a tutti gli esami diagnostici del caso. Dalle radiografie si evince frattura dell’omero, frattura del palato, distacco dell’arco zigomatico. La vescica sembra a posto. Domani verrà sottoposto ad ulteriori esami e poi dovremo decidere per la tipologia di intervento che, in ogni caso, è da effettuarsi il prima possibile. Ed eccoci al dunque, perché ci sono sempre delle somme da tirare … Siamo arrivati ad un punto in cui non possiamo più sostenere ulteriori spese cliniche, in quanto i conti da saldare hanno superato il limite del “buon senso”. Cosa significa? Che non possiamo accollarci ulteriori debiti oltre a quelli già in essere, in quanto al rifugio abbiamo poco meno di mille anime che ogni giorno devono essere nutrite ed alcuni di loro sottoposti a cure specifiche. Abbiamo i dipendenti da pagare, le utenze, il materiale da acquistare, l’ambulatorio da mandare avanti, i veterinari interni al rifugio da pagare. Siamo una associazione di volontariato che si occupa di benessere animale, abbiamo un rifugio e non produciamo nulla, se non amore, ma questo non dà da mangiare ai nostri Ragazzi, né ci aiuta a far fronte agli ingenti esborsi necessari per la gestione di questa grande casa. Purtroppo da noi non esiste un pronto soccorso veterinario convenzionato ed allora se soccorri un animale e lo porti in una clinica bisogna che ci sia qualcuno che paghi le spese, funziona così. La maggior parte delle persone si rivolgono a noi che siamo una semplice associazione, che vive solo di donazioni. Dovuta precisazione. Il gatto è gravissimo, frattura di una zampa e trauma da shock. Sottoposto immediatamente a terapie del caso. E' un bellissimo maschio, purtroppo lasciato libero di girovagare per le strade, senza alcun controllo e con il traffico che c'è in questo periodo questa è la fine che fanno troppi animali.
