Poveri cuccioli

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 15 years

13-05-2011 - Still abandonments......every day. We are really at pure madness, every day at our animal shelter, puppies are "dumped", puppies that will never have a dignified life. What is all this cruelty!! Today around 15, a lady came to the animal shelter, she had never come before, she found near the bin on Viale Aldo Moro high, a box under the scorching sun with two puppies. Look at them in what condition they are, completely dehydrated, they couldn't even drink, their eyes dull. They are two females, skeletal, malnourished, full of ticks. I would like, for a moment, that we focus on what is happening, we really don't know anymore what to do, it's difficult, look at our website, look at the daily abandonments. We are shouting to the whole world so that a sterilization campaign is implemented. They are all deaf, on our website and also on FB we have published a petition: for a signature collection for the implementation of law 281, nothing, very few are the signatures. We can't understand that we demonstrate for many contexts, useful, valid but for the dogs that live in our shelters in situations of grave hardship we can't do anything !!!!!!!!!!!!! Our dogs, in what conditions do they live??????? Can we call that life they are condemned to??? Help us because we can't survive anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

13-05-2011 - Ancora abbandoni......tutti i giorni.

About Poveri cuccioli

What life with Poveri cuccioli looks like

Poveri cuccioli is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at L.I.D.A. Olbia in Olbia.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Poveri cuccioli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Poveri cuccioli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L.I.D.A. Olbia handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Poveri cuccioli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Poveri cuccioli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L.I.D.A. Olbia will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Poveri cuccioli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Poveri cuccioli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L.I.D.A. Olbia early rather than rehoming privately; they know Poveri cuccioli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
