APOLLÓ

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

SOS, we're looking for a home! He's at the dog pound, and his quarantine period has expired! Our rescue contact, Apolló, is a 2-year-old, beautiful bicolor male German Shepherd. Apolló is wary, but there is no fear or any other kind of aggression in him. Once he gets to know someone and takes them into his trust, he becomes very attached. We would like to place him with a family as a family member, because he deserves it. We want to find him a home so he can get a second chance at life, since he is also innocently behind bars right now. He can be met in Gyomaendrőd, in Békés County. Contact: Please send Hajni Kovács a Messenger message introducing yourself and describing where and how the rescued dog would live with you; or send an email to the address cnjalapitvany.com. facebook.com/kovacs.hajni0210

S. O. S. gazdikereső! Gyepmesteri telepen van, lejárt karanténnal! Közvetített gazdakeresőnk Apolló, a 2 éves, szép bicolor kan német juhászkutya.

About APOLLÓ

What life with APOLLÓ looks like

APOLLÓ is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting APOLLÓ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about APOLLÓ?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw APOLLÓ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt APOLLÓ if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is APOLLÓ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if APOLLÓ isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület early rather than rehoming privately; they know APOLLÓ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
