Botond

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Botond has found a forever home! Botond is the dog who, with his last strength, came up to our car and looked at us pleadingly, begging us to save him. It was cold, Botond was all skin and bones, and a heavy iron chain was locked around his neck. He has become our foster dog. Botond is 3 years old, people-oriented, and very affectionate. He behaves nicely in an apartment, is house-trained, and does not destroy things. He can be socialized with female dog and male dogs, but only with large or medium-sized ones. We do not recommend him for small dogs. He chases cats. Dog training school is recommended, as Botond is smart and learns easily. You can get to know him in Borsod County. Botond will be adopted vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, under an adoption contract. Contact: send a short introductory email to cnjalapitvany.com, or call 30-542-1492, or send a message to Anikó Víg on Facebook via Messenger, describing where and how Botond would live with the applicant. facebook.com/vassnevig.aniko

A védencünk lett. A cicákat hajtja. Kutyaiskola javasolt, Botond okos, könnyen tanul. Borsod megyében lehet ismerkedni vele. Botondot oltva, chipelve, és ivartalanítva adjuk örökbe szerződéssel. Kapcsolat: rövid bemutatkozó e-mailben a cnjalapitvany. com e-mail címen, vagy a 30-542-1492-es telefonszámon, vagy üzenet Víg Anikónak a facebookon messenger üzenetben, hol, hogyan élne Botond a jelentkezőnél. facebook. com/vassnevig. aniko

About Botond

What life with Botond looks like

Botond is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Botond, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Botond?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Botond on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Botond if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Botond already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Botond isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with CNJ Állatvédő Egyesület early rather than rehoming privately; they know Botond and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
