Archer

American Bulldog · Male · Adult · 6 years

Archer is an American bull type male, born in April 2020, who came into our care with the help of the Szurkolók az Állatokért foundation. Archer and two other unfortunate companions were rescued from Ácsteszér, where they were kept under terrible conditions. They were injured, chained, thin, with their ears completely eaten away by flies. Fortunately, all three dogs found a foster home, and Archer came to us. Archer is eager to learn and loves when we spend time with him. He has had little affection so far, which is why he is still wild and nervous. We do not yet know how he gets along with other dogs, but we think that with compulsory dog school training, he can become a loyal family member. We recommend this dog for an experienced family with knowledge of the breed, who will adopt him as a family member, not as a guard dog. Archer is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered, and can be adopted as a family member. Attention, the dog is located at the Szergegyi branch of NOÉ Animal Shelter. You can inquire about it at our address! Additional pictures HERE!

Figyelem a kutya a NOÉ Állatotthon szergényi telephelyén található. About Archer

What life with Archer looks like

Archer is a small adult american bulldog dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires mandatory dog training school due to lack of early socialization

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Archer, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Archer?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Archer on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Archer if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Archer already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Archer isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Archer and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
