Aresana

Female · Senior · 13 years

Aresana is an extraordinary dog who, despite her age, still impresses with her energy, joy and optimism. She is strong, curious about the world, and every walk is an opportunity for her to enjoy her surroundings and human companionship. She walks nicely on a leash, does not pull or tug - spending time with her is a pure pleasure. Although age is starting to show, she does not lose her good spirits. She has been diagnosed with spondyloarthrotic changes in the thoracic, lumbar and sacral spine - a chronic, slowly progressive and irreversible degenerative disease requiring constant treatment. A cancerous change in the lung tissue is also suspected, which is why Aresana remains under constant veterinary care. She takes medication and supplements every day to support her body and help her function as comfortably as possible. For this reason, the ideal home for her is a barrier-free place, preferably a house with a garden or an apartment in a building with an elevator.

PL·Show original

Zdiagnozowano u niej zmiany spondyloartrotyczne w odcinkach piersiowym, lędźwiowym i krzyżowym kręgosłupa – to przewlekła, wolno postępująca i nieodwracalna choroba zwyrodnieniowa, wymagająca stałego leczenia.

About Aresana

What life with Aresana looks like

Aresana is a large senior dog waiting at Funny Pets Czartki in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aresana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aresana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Funny Pets Czartki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aresana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aresana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Funny Pets Czartki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aresana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aresana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Funny Pets Czartki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aresana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
