Adopt Aria

Labrador Retriever · Female

Description Our animal welfare workers report: There are encounters, images, moments that go deep into the heart and that one never lets go. Such is the sight of the small Labrador-mixed-breed female dog Aria, who desperately ran through the streets of the city Breasta with a fresh wound on her head (see images). She was not only beaten by her owner but also abandoned, and this happened in close proximity to the cruel killing station, where everywhere dog catchers are on the lookout to enrich themselves at the expense of the animals' suffering. It succeeded for our animal rescuer Paula to secure Aria and take her to her intake station. When reading Aria's microchip, Paula found that there was an owner and data for Aria, like her name and birthdate. Paula wanted to prevent her from being handed over to her abuser and finally managed to register her. At the intake station, Aria showed to be compatible and friendly in dealing with fellow animals and cats. She also plays occasionally with other dogs, but does not participate in wild chase games and prefers more quiet play. Nevertheless, she is an active female dog who loves to accompany her primary caregiver on walks and can be easily leashed. Aria is house-trained and does not destroy objects in the house, so it can be assumed that she lived in an apartment or house before. However, a broom is not safe from her because she probably was beaten with it. Aria is a cheerful nature, wants to be liked, affirmed, and rewarded. She is very people-oriented and not at all happy being alone. At least one fellow animal or a cat should accompany her when her human is away. Aria wishes for a home where she is valued and treated with love. She wants to leave behind the times of deprivation and mistreatment and begin a carefree life in security. Open and friendly, she is ready to start a new chapter in her life and would rather discover a new world by her human's side tomorrow than wait. Who has Aria as much in their heart as we do? Who shares the second half of her life with the lovable female dog? Please note:

About Aria

What life with Aria looks like

Aria is a adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Aria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Aria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Aria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Aria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Aria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Aria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Aria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
