Arko is a dog who arrived at the shelter after suffering from abuse. His past has unfortunately left him with many physical and emotional scars that still strongly influence his behavior today. Behind his particular and captivating gaze is a dog deeply marked by what he has experienced. Arko needs a lot of time before he can trust humans. Since his arrival at the shelter, he has been extremely wary, anxious, and stressed. Each new situation is a challenge for him, and his daily life is currently devoted to finding a minimum of serenity and reference points. This insecurity is particularly reflected in his strong protection of resources, both around his food and his living space. These behaviors are now understood as the consequences of a difficult past and are the subject of a gradual work with the shelter team, respecting his rhythm and limits. Arko was not used to being walked before he arrived, so we do not yet know his behavior outside or how he will evolve in this context once he is confident enough to discover this environment.

Arko est arrivé au refuge suite à une situation de maltraitance. Son passé lui a malheureusement laissé de nombreuses séquelles, tant physiques qu’émotionnelles, qui influencent encore fortement son comportement aujourd’hui. Derrière son regard particulier et prenant se cache un chien profondément marqué par ce qu’il a vécu. Arko a besoin de beaucoup de temps avant de pouvoir accorder sa confiance à l’être humain. Depuis son arrivée au refuge, il se montre extrêmement méfiant, anxieux et stressé. Chaque nouvelle situation représente un défi pour lui, et son quotidien est actuellement consacré à retrouver un minimum de sérénité et de repères. Cette insécurité se traduit notamment par une importante protection de ressources, aussi bien autour de sa nourriture que de son espace de vie. Ces comportements sont aujourd’hui compris comme les conséquences d’un passé difficile et font l’objet d’un travail progressif avec l’équipe du refuge, dans le respect de son rythme et de ses limites. Arko n’avait pas l’habitude d’être promené avant son arrivée chez nous. Nous ne connaissons donc pas encore son comportement à l’extérieur ni la manière dont il évoluera dans ce contexte une fois qu’il sera suffisamment en confiance pour découvrir cet environnement.
