adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Arthur can travel directly to his own home! His story: For three weeks, he waited at a bus stop in a village near Bistrița, as if he had lost someone there. A kind-hearted person shared his story on Facebook, hoping that someone would miss him – but no one responded. So, Arthur was brought to the our shelter, where he now awaits his second chance. Arthur is a playful and friendly little dog who delights in every bit of attention. He loves people, is open and curious, and enjoys being the center of attention. He also gets along well with other dogs; his compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Arthur is estimated to be about one year old and has a small size of around 32 cm and 8 kg. At one year old, Arthur is in the middle of puberty – a phase where young dogs like to test their limits and sometimes seem to "forget" things they have learned. His new family should be prepared to guide him through this time with patience, loving consistency, and positive reinforcement. Attending a positively run dog training class could also help him develop into a confident companion. For Arthur, we are searching for a home that not only offers love and security but also helps him develop into a balanced dog. If you are looking for a lively, active companion, you will find a wonderful lifelong friend in Arthur. Arthur travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He possesses an EU pet passport and can travel after a positive health check. Do you want to give Arthur the chance to start his young life in a loving home? A big thank you goes to Mireille, who gave Arthur the opportunity to start anew with his name! As of: 05.03.

Stand: 05.03.2025

About Arthur

What life with Arthur looks like

Arthur is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arthur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arthur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arthur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arthur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arthur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arthur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arthur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
