03-09-2026 “𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮‘𝙧𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙨” Workaway Alissa kan eigenlijk geen onderscheid maken qua gedrag bij Artis en Hermes. Ze zijn natuurlijk ook altijd bij en met elkaar, maar voor de rest vertonen ze ook echt puur puppengedrag. Zodra de vrijwilligers de puppykennel binnenkomen, overvallen ze Alissa en willen nog maar 1 ding: spelen!!! Ze zijn heel speels en energiek. Dat doen ze natuurlijk met de bekken, dus het is nippen en ‘bijten’ tot ze moe zijn en zich overgeven. Pas dan kan er lekker geknuffeld worden. Om vervolgens uitgerust genoeg te zijn om weer te spelen. De Safe Haven is geen plek voor een pup om op te groeien. Natuurlijk ze leren er zeer sociaal gedrag en worden opgevoed door de roedel, maar ze horen in een thuis; zekerheid, een dak boven hun hoofd, regelmatig en goede voeding en altijd liefde… 11-08-2026 Het begin: Artemis werd op 08-08-2026 op het plein van Kopanaki gevonden. Waarom Katerina haar niet kon laten lopen, is onbekend, maar zij werd meegenomen naar de verlaten tuin, waar Hermes ook alweer zat. Het wordt vaak door ons verteld, er mogen absoluut geen honden meer van de straat gehaald worden en daarbij was de tuin helemaal leeggehaald voor wat betreft eventueel kunnen verzorgen van honden. Daarnaast zijn een strenge procedures voor een hond dan tóch opgenomen wordt bij ons, als het noodzaak is. Artemis werd naar de apotheek-winkel gebracht, gewogen, gevaccineerd en ontdaan van parasieten, maar er is geen test gedaan. Zoals dat ook niet bij Hermes gebeurd is. En toen besloten de mensen van de verlaten tuin terug naar huis (en tuin) te komen. Omdat zij een zwaar autistisch kind hebben, werd gezegd dat de hondjes niet veilig waren. De keuzes? Naar de enorme shelter nabij Kalamata en verdwijnen in de massa van 1. 500+ honden. Terug op straat. Naar de FTS Safe Haven. Wij hadden natuurlijk nog wel een aantal andere opties kunnen benoemen, als de beslissing niet meteen gemaakt was. De hondjes kwamen zonder getest te zijn op de shelter en zitten nu achter in de hoek te wachten tot ze naar de dierenarts gebracht kunnen worden. Soms moet je snel beslissen en hopen dat de gevolgen minimaal blijven. De zorg, die bij de overheid hoort te liggen, wordt weer eens niet door hen opgepakt en komt nu nogmaals op onze schouders. Artemis… kan daar helemaal niets aan doen. Zij heeft niet gekozen voor dit leven en daarom krijgt ze het beste leven wat wij haar kunnen geven. Er zal snel een update komen en een betere schatting van haar leeftijd, aangezien zij snel naar de dierenarts zal gaan. Artemis is open, speels en lief met Hermes. 17-08-2026 Artis is naar de dierenarts geweest. Hij werd getest op Parvo en gelukkig was dat negatief. Hij? Ja! Want Artemis bleek Artis. Dit is de tweede keer in zeer korte tijd dat de rescuers in GR zich in het geslacht vergissen… en in dit geval vroegen de vrijwilligers zich wel af: “Hoe dan? Hahaha Artis is een mooie, gezellige, open jongeman die echt heel erg van gezelschap houdt. Knuffelen, badderen, spelen. Hij heeft het echt naar zijn zin. Samen met Hermes kan hij goed zijn energie kwijt, maar in de hitte zoekt hij ook al goed zijn rust. We vermoeden dat Artis een grotere middelmaat hond wordt.
