adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Asa can move into your own home! Her story: Our sweetie Asa is waiting for her own home. The beautiful, approximately 8-month-old female dog Asa is expected to grow to about 50 cm when fully grown. With her loyal eyes, sweet floppy ears, and cute pink dot on her nose, it's hard to ignore her. Her lively and mischievous nature, her curiosity about the life she's trying to explore playfully, are wonderful prerequisites for going through life with a loyal partner. Of course, Asa is still unfamiliar with life in a family and has a lot to learn. House training, leash manners, recall, and family rules will be topics that Asa is eager to learn with her open-minded nature and willingness. In her foster home, Asa lives with several other dogs. Asa is super social when it comes to getting along with other dogs and learns very quickly. Asas appearance suggests that she may have some herding dog genes. She is likely a Border Collie mix. Border Collies are playful, temperamental, attentive, kind, and loyal. Thanks to their high intelligence, they can be trained excellently and learn quickly. A special preference of Border Collies is their love for water and mud, in which they love to play. Puberty is knocking on the door soon and will likely cause a bit of chaos. It's especially important during this phase to be lovingly consistent in training, but also to forgive the occasional mishap. A positively working dog training class can be very supportive during this. Once this phase is over, you can pat each other on the back and say that you've accomplished something wonderful together. If you'd like to start this adventure with Asa, then get in touch with us! Asa will move to her EU pet passport with a microchip, vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and neutering to her family. Asa will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. We thank Iwona K.! You have given Asa her own identity and the chance to find her own family. As of: 08.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 08.04.2025

About Asa

What life with Asa looks like

Asa is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Asa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Asa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Asa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Asa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Asa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Asa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Asa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
