Asahi

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Asahi was taken in by our association along with her sister Kiyomi when they were wandering on a breeding site in Ille and Vilaine. They must have been born outside from a stray mother, and not known human contact. Therefore, there was an education regarding human contact. That is why she remains very shy, but time and patience will make things: Asahi is gradually gaining confidence! Today, her presence is felt in the house as long as it's calm, she doesn't hesitate to come and lounge on the couch right next to us. She is a very affectionate little cat! If the environment becomes too lively for her taste, she will prefer to hide. As for physical contact, the breakthrough has not yet occurred. She is rarely touched (with a feather). This little one is a chatterbox, affectionate from a distance and of a joyful and very friendly temperament. She gets along very well with other cats. She is also an excellent fly catcher: she makes jumps to catch them that reach up to 1.50 m, without a run-up. She is waiting for her family for life. If you are gentle, patient and respectful of her need for time and patience, and if you have one or more other sociable cat(s), it could be you!

FR·Show original

About Asahi

What life with Asahi looks like

Asahi is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at ADPK - Association Des P in adpk association des p tits korrigans.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Asahi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Asahi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ADPK - Association Des P handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Asahi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Asahi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ADPK - Association Des P will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Asahi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Asahi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ADPK - Association Des P early rather than rehoming privately; they know Asahi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
