Asia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 18 months

Meet Asia 🐾❤️ Asia is a beautiful young Jack Russell, around 18 months old, with so much love to give. Having come from a home where more than 60 dogs lived together, Asia has only ever known life surrounded by other dogs. Because of this, we feel she would thrive in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion who can help her continue to build her confidence. Asia is naturally shy and nervous when she first meets new people, but beneath that uncertainty is a loving, affectionate, and playful little girl. Once she learns that she’s safe and begins to trust you, her lovely personality starts to shine through. She is a gentle, good-natured wee soul with endless potential. All she needs is a patient family willing to give her the time, kindness, and reassurance she deserves. More than anything, Asia deserves a sofa to call her own, a place where she feels safe, and a family that she can finally call hers. Could you be the one to give this special little girl the happy ending she’s been waiting for? ❤️

About Asia

What life with Asia looks like

Asia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Asia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Asia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Asia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Asia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Asia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Asia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Asia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
