Asterix, Antje und Alma

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Asterix (short-haired), Antje (half-long-haired, short tail) and Alma (short-haired, short tail) are unmistakably reminiscent of little polar bears, aren't they?! With their radiant white fur, strong paws and sometimes short tails, they certainly deserve this nickname. Unfortunately, we don't know why two out of three are docked. We also don't know which breeds are mixed in and what size they will reach. We assume they are farm and herd guard dogs, which are likely to grow large. Characteristically, the little polar bears are super affectionate, people-oriented, funny and playful. They are curious about the world, even if it can still be overwhelming. They get along well with other dogs and have had a lot of contact with different people. They are easily influenced, learn incredibly quickly, are motivated and attentive. Despite their cute appearance, their breed characteristics should not be underestimated, but also not overestimated. They now need suitable people who can guide them confidently, integrate them into family life and show them everything important. Children are welcome in the new home, but due to the expected size, a house with a garden is probably better suited than an apartment building.

About Asterix, Antje und Alma

What life with Asterix, Antje und Alma looks like

Asterix, Antje und Alma is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Reutlingen in Reutlingen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Asterix, Antje und Alma, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Asterix, Antje und Alma?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Reutlingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Asterix, Antje und Alma on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Asterix, Antje und Alma if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Reutlingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Asterix, Antje und Alma already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Asterix, Antje und Alma isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Reutlingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Asterix, Antje und Alma and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
