Ayla

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Description Our animal welfare workers report: Ayala's heart is heavy - once again, she is locked up, behind bars, which she climbs desperately and bravely. Ayla has not given up; she wants to be free, to run, sniff, jump, and roll - but none of this is allowed for the young, active furry nose! Ayla is now in a private animal shelter, where a sponsor finances her food and veterinary care. The beautiful, athletic young female dog was rescued from a municipal pound by an animal rescuer; there, the puppy lived among garbage, stench, noise, dampness, and cold, between hunger and thirst. The municipal employees of the animal shelter, which is also a pound, do not provide adequate care for the animals. A stolen childhood in the worst prison! Ayala's good constitution and youth have allowed her to survive, but she has not experienced much in the few months of her young life. It is now time for Ayla to find a kind and caring home with a primary caregiver who supports her in navigating everyday life, patiently showing her new environmental stimuli and household situations. Ayla has never been able to live without worry, has never experienced anything positive from us humans, and no one has ever responded to her needs. Ayala's precious youth is almost over, but better times should follow - Ayla wants to catch up on everything! As soon as a caretaker enters the straw-lined kennel she shares with Nele, Elsa, and Ruby, Ayla cannot contain her joy at the human attention; she begs for mental stimulation and cuddles, even a bit wildly and enthusiastically. Who will give Ayla play, fun, and foster her natural curiosity and zest for life? Update 08.04.2026 new photos, videos (Ayla enjoying nature) 25.01.2026 new photos and videos Please note:

About Ayla

What life with Ayla looks like

Ayla is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ayla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ayla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ayla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ayla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ayla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ayla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ayla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
