Yuna

Galgo Español · Female · Adult · 7 years

Yuna had to live her entire life in a dilapidated house among ruins. When a family entered the premises and discovered her in this situation, they took all necessary steps to get Yuna out of there. Finally, the owner agreed and gave Yuma up. When she arrived at the animal shelter, she was so terrified that she hardly moved. She had never been on a walk before and thus had panic attacks at the mere touch of a leash. She needed a lot of time to adjust, but she is gentle and loving, and so she slowly and gradually began to enjoy her new life. She is friendly with other dogs, learning to communicate and play with them. It is a learning process that requires time, as she was always alone at the old place. She gets along well with cats and is also loving with children. After the Mediterranean tests, treatment for Ehrlichiosis was started for her. Who gives Yuna a chance and gives her a real home, where she can still discover a lot of the world together with her people? Please contact us by email if you have any questions.

DE·Show original

About Yuna

What life with Yuna looks like

Yuna is a adult galgo español dog waiting at Galgos Greys & more in Galgos Greys.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yuna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yuna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Galgos Greys & more handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yuna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yuna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Galgos Greys & more will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yuna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yuna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Galgos Greys & more early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yuna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
