Adopt Baghera (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Wondrous indeed, we cannot call BAGHERA anything else. What an expressive power this dog possesses 🥰 ⭐️ BAGHERA, we got to meet him during our visit to Botosani, and he deeply impressed us. Through his beauty, yes, but especially through his energy, which he hasn't lost despite his life in the shelter. ⭐️ He was found as a little puppy in the cold in a field in winter 2022 with his siblings. More dead than alive. Dana took the litter in and saved their lives 🙏🏻 ⭐️ But unfortunately, as they grew older, they were increasingly overlooked. BAGHERA included. Eventually, they had to move from the puppy area to the back of the enclosure, and there often isn't the time to introduce all the dogs. So sad—but the harsh reality in the shelters of this world. ⭐️ Thus, BAGHERA was more or less on his own, and he became increasingly shy. He didn't retreat, quite the opposite, people make him extremely curious, but he is also cautious. ⭐️ But that's how we met him on-site—cautiously, yet he always wants to be part of it. He'd love to be at the front 🥰 ⭐️ To give him more chances, we asked that more work be done with him on-site, which the people there directly implemented, and every day spent a few minutes with BAGHERA was a success. 🥰🙏🏻 Now, strangers can enter his enclosure without him going "into safety." He is happy, he lets himself be petted, and he shows himself just as we saw him behind his facade. Now he is ready and wants to be seen!! 🫟 Born: Winter 2022 🫟 neutered, vaccinated, microchipped 🫟 can be tested with cats BAGHERA has only known life in an enclosure—practically since birth. Occasionally, he is allowed to run on the grounds, but that is the exception. ⭐️ He is not a dog for beginners. He is friendly, has never been aggressive, but he is full of energy and cautious in dealing with people. We are sure that he can settle in here and find a life with challenges wonderful, but he might need more time to adjust, because his world has always been an enclosure. ⭐️ An only dog would be ideal. We do not want to place BAGHERA with a family with small children, as he might be overwhelmed by the fuss. This we cannot assess. ⭐️ If you think you are the person for this wonderful dog, please get in touch. BAGHERA will leave Romania neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed with the Snap 4D test. He will be rehomed with a V. Our dogs come to 91278 Pottenstein and would also like to be picked up there. All our dogs travel with official trace papers, and of course, we also have the Paragraph 11.

About Baghera (m)

What life with Baghera (m) looks like

Baghera (m) is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baghera (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baghera (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baghera (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baghera (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baghera (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baghera (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baghera (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
