Akiro is no troublemaker! And yet, he has been with us since June 2022 and is longing for a real home. While he’s not 100% trouble-free, he’s not overly demanding either. For instance, he’s cheerful and well-behaved, something not everyone can claim. The problem is that he simply doesn’t engage with anyone. No one ever asks, "Who is that black dog with the piercing gaze?" He had exactly one interested party in two and a half years. His Christmas wish isn’t that someone adopts him out of pity, but that his post is shared as often as possible so that his future human can finally discover him. The three-year-old mix of Labrador and Podenco has plenty of PS and not just in his paws. We are therefore looking for a home for Akiro far from the hustle and bustle of the city, one that can provide him with enough physical activity and a stable fence, while also setting boundaries or giving him orientation. Akiro is basically socially compatible, but can quickly become insecure, which can manifest in various ways. A second dog should therefore be confident and physically capable to clarify the situation directly for Akiro and make it less stressful for both four-legged and two-legged beings. Akiro lives with a very clear Alabai female dog here, which works smoothly and is a win for both—she calves all day on the lawn, and they fall asleep happy and tired in their dog bed at night. The same insecurity shows Akiro with unfamiliar people. He barks uncertainly from a safe distance. For people who can provide Akiro with activity and boundaries, the neutered male dog is a great companion for cycling, Canicross, and other sporting activities. Even scootering has been started with him, so this can also be a regular part of his time with his two-legged companions with a bit more training. Akiro is a dog for singles or sporty couples without small animal ambitions, limited by his character strengths. Update Akiro, 17.12.2023: Sure, Akiro is not a trouble-free dog and is definitely not for beginners or families. He needs a quieter environment and owners who are forward-thinking and can be firm if he suddenly sees something exciting and wants to go full speed... BUT: he is also not a complete disaster and is full of contagious joy, sitting here for 1.5 years without a single person asking about him. Akiro was born in March 2019, and he still has a lot ahead of him and doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life on the animal shelter farm. Where are the fit people who can provide a long-legged young pup with activity? Please also leave a message on the answering machine. We don’t have a phone on us while working with the animals because we need our full attention, but we regularly take time to listen to and return the messages.

Akiro ist kein Sorgenkind! Und trotzdem sitzt er schon seit Juni 2022 bei uns und wünscht sich ein richtiges Zuhause. Und auch wenn er nicht 100% unkompliziert ist, soooo anspruchsvoll ist er nun auch wieder nicht. Unter anderem ist er fröhlich und gut erzogen, das kann wahrlich nicht jeder von sich behaupten. Das Problem ist, dass er einfach niemanden anspricht. Es fragt einfach niemand "wer ist denn dieser pechschwarze Hund mit dem stechenden Blick?" Er hatte in zweieinhalb Jahren genau "einen" Interessenten. Sein Adventskalenderwunsch ist natürlich nicht, dass ihn jetzt jemand aus Mitleid adoptiert, sondern, dass sein Post so oft wie möglich geteilt wird, damit ihn endlich endlich sein zukünftiger Mensch entdeckt. Der dreijährige Mix aus Labrador und Podenco hat ordentlich PS und das nicht nur in den Pfoten. Für Akiro suchen wir daher ein Zuhause fernab städtischen Trubels, das neben ausreichend körperlicher Auslastung und einem stabilen Zaun, auch dazu in der Lage ist, ihm für seinen Kopf Grenzen zu setzen bzw. ihm Orientierung zu geben. Akiro ist grundsätzlich sozialverträglich, darin aber schnell unsicher, was sich auf die eine oder andere Art und Weise äußern kann. Ein möglicher vorhandener Zweithund sollte daher souverän und ihm körperlich gewachsen sein, um die Ausgangslage für Akiro direkt zu klären und die Situation damit sowohl für Vier- als auch für Zweibeiner zu entstressen. Bei uns lebt Akiro mit einer sehr klaren Alabai-Hündin zusammen, was reibungslos funktioniert und für beide ein Gewinn ist - sie kalbern den ganzen Tag gemeinsam auf der Wiese rum und fallen abends glücklich und müde ins Körbchen. Die gleiche Unsicherheit zeigt Akiro auch bei unbekannten Menschen. Diese verbellt er unsicher aus „sicherer“ Entfernung.Für Menschen, die Akiro Auslastung und Grenzen bieten können, ist der kastrierte Rüde ein toller Begleiter beim Rad fahren, Canicross und anderen sportiven Tätigkeiten. Auch das Scootern wurde mit ihm begonnen, so dass auch dies mit ein wenig mehr Training gerne Bestandteil der gemeinsamen Zeit mit seinen Zweibeinern sein kann. Akiro ist bedingt durch seine Charakterstärken also ein Hund für Singles oder sportive Paare ohne Kleintierambitionen. Update Akiro, 17.12.2023:Sicher, Akiro ist kein ganz unkomplizierter Hund und bestimmt nicht für Anfänger oder Familien geeignet. Er braucht ein etwas ruhigeres Umfeld und Halter, die vorausschauend sind und im Zweifelsfall auch standfest, falls er plötzlich etwas spannendes sieht und Gas geben möchte... ABER: er ist auch wirklich keine Vollkatastrophe und steckt bis zum Stehkragen voll mit ansteckender Lebensfreude und sitzt hier schon seit 1,5 Jahren, ohne dass auch nur ein einziger Mensch mal nach ihm gefragt hätte. Akiro ist im März 2019 geboren, er hat also noch viel vor sich und möchte nicht den Rest seines Lebens auf dem Tierschutzhof verbringen. Wo sind die fitten Menschen, die einen langbeinigen Jungspunt auslasten können? Bitte sprechen Sie auch auf den Anrufbeantworter. Bei der Arbeit mit den Tieren haben wir kein Telefon in der Tasche, denn wir brauchen unsere volle Aufmerksamkeit. Wir nehmen uns aber zwischendurch regelmäßig Zeit, das Band abzuhören und zurückzurufen.
