adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bagira has found a home! His story: Zalau, Romania. Black cats bring bad luck – complete nonsense when you look at this beautiful and graceful tomcat Bagira! Bagira was dropped off by an older lady who could no longer take care of him and his sister Emely. Fortunately, their fate was spared from being out on the streets, and they were taken in by our wonderful cat shelter in Zalau. When they arrived, both had an ear infection, which could be treated well. Now, both are completely healthy and ready to start their next adventure. Our Bagira is a tomcat like you could only wish for, very open, playful, and affectionate. The handsome tomcat always shows his best side. He is very compatible with his fellow animals, plays with all the other cats in the room, and should therefore always be moved to a home with at least one existing feline friend. If there is no cat or tomcat waiting for him in the new home, Bagira would be happy to bring some extra feline company from the shelter. Whether he gets along with dogs has not yet been tested. He has also always lived in an apartment, so we would like to place him in one. However, he would definitely be happy with a secured balcony or garden. Of course, Bagira travels already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He was tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He also has an EU pet passport in his luggage and can be transported after a positive health check. Do you want to give the wonderful Bagira an empathetic, loving, and patient home? Then we look forward to your contact with a self-disclosure form. Many thanks, Natalie P.! You have also given Bagira and Emely their wonderful names!. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Bagira

What life with Bagira looks like

Bagira is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bagira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bagira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bagira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bagira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bagira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bagira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bagira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
