Adopt Bailey

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

General information: microchipped and vaccinated, a mixed-breed dog with dark ginger coat. Temperament: Bailey is a cautious and somewhat insecure dog towards people he does not know, he needs some time and patience to trust. He tends to jump on people, but he will gradually learn the correct way to approach. He loves to run and play. On walks he tends to zigzag on the leash, especially in the first part of the walk, probably because of all the smells he encounters. He is used to wearing a harness. Ideal adoption: Families with experience with dogs, he is a dog that needs a lot of movement and activity and therefore not suitable for sedentary people or those who leave him alone doing nothing for too many hours. No children. Good with another dog, provided a character compatibility test is carried out at the shelter in the presence of an operator. It will be important to manage resources well. He has had few experiences, so if there are problems, the family must be available for a course with a professional. Good in a quiet living environment ... or at least he must be taken often for walks in the green. Apartment or house with a garden, living inside with the family and ensuring the necessary daily walks for his psychological and physical well-being background:

No bambini. Bene in presenza di un altro cane competente previo prova di compatibilità caratteriale da effettuarsi in canile in presenza di un operatore. Sarà importante gestire bene le risorse. About Bailey

What life with Bailey looks like

Bailey is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at ENPA Monza e Brianza in Monza.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bailey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bailey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Monza e Brianza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bailey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bailey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Monza e Brianza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bailey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bailey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Monza e Brianza early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bailey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
