Tigro

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Generalities: A beautiful young cat, one of those defined as "European common." However, despite the classic chestnut tabby coat and yellow-green eyes with an intense gaze, this definition does not fully do justice to his feline charm. Tigro is vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He enjoys good health; he is a big eater, but follows a specific diet for cats with sensitive stomachs. Personality: Tigro is a lively, incredibly alert and enterprising cat, with a strong need for affection and security. Initially, he may appear timid with people he doesn't know, but quickly opens up when given food and begins to feel comfortable with the person. He loves to play and explore and particularly enjoys his tunnel. He is currently temporarily housed in a bathroom, where unfortunately there are not much space for play and exploration; despite this undoubtedly stressful situation, Tigro is showing excellent adaptation skills and is an extremely balanced cat. After the trauma of abandonment, thanks to the work of volunteers, he is gradually regaining trust in humans. Ideal adoption: For Tigro, an intelligent and lively cat, curious and explorer, an apartment adoption is sought, in a safe and stimulating environment. Ideally, a family with time, availability and patience to dedicate to him, able to provide him with attention, play and affection, understanding both his great intelligence and his deep need for love. A quiet environment is required (preferably without children) and without other cats, as in the feral cat colony he has shown he does not like the presence of his own kind. NO YARD. Balconies and windows must be secured (to be assessed). Pre and post adoption placement interviews are required. background: His first appearance in a feral cat colony followed by volunteers in Mezzago (MB) dates back to September 2022. From the very beginning, Tigro has shown to be a well-socialized cat very inclined to human contact. It is assumed that it was abandoned post-Covid, as has unfortunately happened to many other animals. After a couple of disappearances (maybe he was looking for who had abandoned him?), Tigro returned to the feral cat colony. Considering his extremely sociable character and the danger posed by hunters present in the nearby woods, a permanent, safe and protected home environment is sought for him.

NO GIARDINO.

About Tigro

What life with Tigro looks like

Tigro is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at ENPA Monza e Brianza in Monza.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tigro, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tigro?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Monza e Brianza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tigro on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tigro if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Monza e Brianza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tigro already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tigro isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Monza e Brianza early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tigro and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
