Bailey

Mixed Breed · Male

Meet our handsome boy Bailey, a lovely middle aged lab/staffie mix who is now ready to find a forever home to call his own. Bailey is a happy, easy going boy who enjoys all the simple pleasures in life. He loves getting out for walks, taking in all the exciting sights and sniffs along the way, and if there’s water nearby, even better! Whether it’s the beach, a stream or a puddle, Bailey is always happy to make a splash. He is a clever boy who already knows a range of commands and will even “speak” on cue. Bailey loves a fuss from everyone he meets and is happiest when spending time with his favourite people. Bailey has a lovely, relaxed nature and nothing seems to bother him. He enjoys playing ball, has good manners and is always eager to please. He can be strong on the lead to begin with but soon settles once he gets going and enjoys his walk. Although Bailey already has a great foundation, we feel he would benefit from positive reward based training classes. This will help maintain his good manners, provide a consistent routine and support him as he adjusts to life in his new home, while also strengthening the bond with his new family. If you are looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys adventures just as much as relaxing by your side, Bailey could be the perfect addition to your family. Could potentially live with children age 16+ and other animals based on introductions.

About Bailey

What life with Bailey looks like

Bailey is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Cardiff Dogs Home.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bailey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bailey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cardiff Dogs Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bailey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bailey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cardiff Dogs Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bailey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bailey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cardiff Dogs Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bailey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
