Bailey

Mastiff · Female · Adult · 3 years

Bailey is our sweet girl who is looking for quiet home with understanding owners that can give her the time and space to build a bond and learn to trust them. Bailey does find new people, places and experiences daunting at times but does do well with a predictable routine and with time and positive socialisation at a pace Bailey is comfortable she is gradually building her confidence and showing her cheeky character and how affectionate she is. She has come on such a long way but she still has more she needs to learn so her new family will need to keen to continue her positive reinforcement training in all areas and introducing her to new experiences in a gradual and force free way. She does enjoy her walks and exploring quieter areas, therefore her new family will need to be fairly active and able to offer her the adventures she enjoys once he has settled. Bailey will need to be the only animal home and as she can find the outside world scary at times she will need a secure and private garden with 6ft fencing where she can comfortably spend time relaxing away from distractions. Bailey can live with calm and understanding children 12+ in her new home following introductions at the centre. Can you offer this lady her forever home? - Can live with Children 12+ - Must be the only dog in the home. - Can't live with Cats or other small animals - Needs to be walked in quiet areas / times of the day. - Needs a secure and private garden with 6ft fencing.

About Bailey

What life with Bailey looks like

Bailey is a small adult mastiff dog waiting at RSPCA Coventry and District Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bailey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bailey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Coventry and District Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bailey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bailey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Coventry and District Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bailey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bailey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Coventry and District Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bailey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
