Adopt Bajka-2

Female · Adult · 8 years

Country of Origin: Switzerland Breeding Country: Switzerland In the animal shelter since: July 2022 New owners must not have children or other pets. Understanding and acceptance of the typical herding dog character are required. The new owners should live on a large, secure, and fenced property where Bajka can move freely. This should be remote. The new owners should live in a house. Preparedness to work with a muzzle (securely at the beginning). The new dog owners should have experience with challenging dogs and know their needs. Bajka’s history (why in the animal shelter) Bajka found a nice home. When she arrived there, she defended everything that was important to her. She then came back to us at the animal shelter. Character and behavior Bajka is a typical herding dog and does her “job” very well. Of course, her first instinct with strangers is to keep them at a distance. With enough patience and time, one can really get along well with the older lady. When Bajka accepts someone, she is a real cuddly teddy. Her “resources” (bowl, box, owner, etc.) are sacred to her! One must also not provoke her there. She is very happy to be outside in a large run and observing what is happening. She alerts when something is happening in the surroundings or when someone is nearby. On walks, we experience Bajka as calm and balanced. However, they must not be too long, as the lady has already reached a high age for her size. Bajka does not like the fur care, it must always happen in short stages and with her consent. Herding dogs do not know sheep! Also, no other pets should live in the same household. Has Bajka caught your interest? You can certainly contact us for a meet and greet. Please do not send a questionnaire to animal-happyend. If interested, you can contact the animal shelter Paradiesli at any time - many thanks!. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

Bitte keinen Fragebogen an animal-happyend senden. Bei Interesse dürfen Sie sich gerne ans Tierheim Paradiesli wenden - Vielen Dank!

About Bajka-2

What life with Bajka-2 looks like

Bajka-2 is a adult dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bajka-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bajka-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bajka-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bajka-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bajka-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bajka-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bajka-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
