Balou came to us after being seized, which means we unfortunately don't know much about his past. He was very thin when he arrived. Fortunately, his weight is now back to normal and he clearly feels much better. Balou is a kind, gentle dog who is very focused on his people. He seeks closeness and feels safe with familiar people. Our Balou may be small in size, but he is a real strongman with a big heart. He doesn't really like to play, but he is completely crazy about treats. During walks, he walks well, although he can sometimes be a bit stubborn. When you want to turn around during the walk, he sometimes lies flat on the ground. With a short, calm encouragement on the leash, he then simply continues walking. Balou is reactive on the leash towards other dogs. Therefore, an adopter with experience, patience and understanding is needed, who is willing to work further on this. For Balou, we are looking for a quiet, stable home where he can be central, where people take into account his reactivity on the leash and where he can continue to blossom at his own pace. Behind that tough exterior is actually a very kind guy who is very attached to his people.

Balou kwam bij ons binnen na een inbeslagname, waardoor we helaas weinig weten over zijn verleden. Wat we wel weten, is dat hij bij aankomst erg mager was. Intussen staat zijn gewicht gelukkig opnieuw op peil en voelt hij zich duidelijk beter in zijn vel. Balou is een ouder hondje dat al heel wat achter de rug heeft, maar ondanks alles nog zoveel liefde te geven heeft. Hij is een lieve, zachtaardige jongen die sterk gericht is op zijn mensen. Bij vertrouwde personen zoekt hij graag nabijheid en veiligheid. Hij hecht zich aan wie hij vertrouwt en geniet van zachte aandacht en gezelschap. Ons Balou’ke is misschien klein van gestalte, maar hij heeft een groot hart. Spelen doet hij niet echt, maar snoepjes? Daar is hij helemaal zot van. Tijdens wandelingen loopt hij vlot mee. Balou is reactief aan de leiband naar andere honden. Dit vraagt een adoptant met ervaring, geduld en inzicht, die bereid is hier op een rustige manier verder mee aan de slag te gaan. Voor Balou zoeken we een warme, rustige en stabiele thuis waar hij eindelijk mag thuiskomen. Een plek waar hij centraal mag staan, waar men rekening houdt met zijn reactiviteit aan de leiband en waar hij niet meer hoeft te vechten om gezien te worden. Dit lieve oudere mannetje verdient nog zoveel meer dan een kennel. Hij verdient een zachte mand, vertrouwde mensen om zich heen en de kans om zijn oude dag door te brengen op een plek waar hij geliefd is. Achter dat stoere uiterlijk schuilt vooral een heel lief hart. Wie Balou die kans geeft, krijgt er een trouwe vriend voor terug.
