Bambam

Rottweiler · Male · Adult · 6 years

Our Bambam at Play - Video Our Bambam on Walk - Video Our Bambam is a friendly male dog who values the proximity to his people and quickly forms a close bond. When given the opportunity, he likes to stay close to his trusted people and is highly attuned to them. Especially in situations where he feels insecure or helpless, he actively seeks closeness and security with his people. New people usually meet Bambam openly and openly. Often, he initiates contact and is happy to receive attention. Due to his joy, he can sometimes become a bit forward, which is why a calm and controlled handling should still be worked on. At the same time, Bambam communicates very clearly and fairly: Before reacting to situations that are unpleasant for him, he shows his insecurity or discomfort clearly. Those who take his signals seriously and respect them will quickly realize that Bambam is well assessable. Bambam is attentive, eager to learn, and responds well to his trusted people in training. He quickly understands new things and already masters basic commands reliably. Even wearing a muzzle is familiar to him. Bambam walks well on the leash, although further practice and refinement are still needed. Overall, he masters walks confidently: people, horses, joggers, or cyclists do not faze him. In a free run next to other dogs, he shows excitement but is friendly. However, dog encounters on the leash or in tight situations can still be challenging for him, which is why a sovereign and fair handling is still important. With structure and orientation towards people, encounters are usually well handled, and peaceful joint walks with other dogs are also possible after a short adaptation period. Bambam brings a lot of potential and is looking for a home that offers him loving consequence, clear structures, and sufficient proximity to people.

About Bambam

What life with Bambam looks like

Bambam is a medium-sized adult rottweiler dog waiting at Kreistierheim Böblingen in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bambam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bambam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kreistierheim Böblingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bambam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bambam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kreistierheim Böblingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bambam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bambam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kreistierheim Böblingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bambam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
