adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bambi has found a home! Her story: At Bambi, one simply can't help but feel weak. With this sweet mouse, good mood is guaranteed. Bambi is currently housed in Fantanele. Unfortunately, we know nothing about her past. But for her future, we wish the two sweet mice only the best. With her 33-35 cm and around 11 kg, you meet a small, lively girl, where it's hard to stay serious. Bambi is super active, has puppy-like many ideas in her head, and has a lot of love to give. Bambi is definitely not a couch dog, but one that wants to be kept busy. Bambi gets along well with other dogs, but cats have not yet been tested. She might still grow a little, but is more likely to stay small. Bambi is looking for people who don't have too many expectations of her and can show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. The occasional mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Bambi should always be guided with a positive training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful walks and adventures in nature, many snuggling hours, and also a visit to the puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far and the ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Bambi can start her great journey at any time. She travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. Even a foster home would make the sweet mouse happy. Thanks, Sabine D.! You gave Bambi her name and thus an identity. A big thank you also goes to Lara G., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Bambi. Stand: 01.10.

Stand: 01.10.2024

About Bambi

What life with Bambi looks like

Bambi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bambi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bambi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bambi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bambi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bambi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bambi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bambi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
