Bambino and Piccolo

Male · Baby · 5 months

Bambino and Piccolo are a very shy and sweet pair of Dwarf rats who were handed into our care through no fault of their own. They are only young so they are still timid and not used to handling. To help them to gain confidence around humans we have been spending time with them and speaking to them to help them feel safe around us, this has been really working well as they will now not run away and hide but stay active around us in their pen. They love to be active and their pen is currently filled with hammocks, toys and plenty of other enrichment to keep them both happy and entertained. Little Bambino and Piccolo are fearful of noises and sudden movements so they would love an adopter with a calm, quiet and understanding home that will have plenty of room for a cage/pen that have plenty of space for climbing and lots of fun hiding places. As they are Dwarf rats, they remain very active and playful into their adult years, did you know that they can live longer on average than standard fancy rats. About Bambino and Piccolo

What life with Bambino and Piccolo looks like

Bambino and Piccolo is a medium-sized puppy/kitten animal waiting at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre in Bristol.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Bambino and Piccolo far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bambino and Piccolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bambino and Piccolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bambino and Piccolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bambino and Piccolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bambino and Piccolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bambino and Piccolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bambino and Piccolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
