Banana

Female · Young · 2 years

Meet Banana She is a bouncy 2 year old small breed, female, looking for a home where she can take her time to settle in and feel safe. Banana can be a little nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, but given time and space, her true personality shines through. She is currently building her confidence in a guardian home, where she’s showing off her fun, enthusiastic side. Some of Banana’s favourite things to do are zooming around, playing with toys, going out to explore on her walks no-matter the distance, and her absolute favourite thing is having a snuggle. She is a very enthusiastic learner especially if there’s a tasty treat involved. She also enjoys accompanying her guardian on trips out to pubs and cafés. Although she can be nervous in new environments, she is happy to settle safely on a lap, quietly taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells around her. Banana could potentially live with a compatible dog, subject to successful introductions (she can be wary of some dogs). There is a possibility she could live with children aged 12+ also depending upon introductions. Banana will need someone home full time initially whilst she is settling in. Once settled, time left alone would need to be built up slowly. In her guardian home she is working on this and is happy being left for short periods. To register your interest in adopting Banana, please complete an application form. If you are already registered with us and are interested in adoption, please contact us. As we receive many applications, we will only contact you if we think you are a good match. If you are renting your property, we will need to see proof of landlord permission.

About Banana

What life with Banana looks like

Banana is a small young adult animal waiting at JSPCA — Jersey SPCA in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Banana far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Banana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Banana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. JSPCA — Jersey SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Banana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Banana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — JSPCA — Jersey SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Banana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Banana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with JSPCA — Jersey SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Banana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
