Basta

Female · Young · 3 years

Basta is a very energetic and positive female dog of the TTB type. She loves people and reacts with great joy to every new person she meets on a walk - her bottom starts dancing with excitement. Sometimes she still can't handle her emotions and shows her joy by jumping. Usually she does this next to the person, but sometimes she bounces off them like a spring. On a walk, she initially pulls on the leash. Despite the fact that she is not a large dog and does not have a lot of mass, she can pull. When the emotions subside and Basta moves away from the shelter, she starts walking on a loose leash and sniffing a lot. Walks help her calm down and release the huge amount of emotions she has inside. Traffic is not a problem for her. Basta runs and plays on the run - she stops for only a few seconds, then she moves on again. She loves to play with toys, and she can play very nicely with a tug-of-war by herself, throwing it to herself. But there is something that Basta loves the most - ROLLING. In the sand, in the grass... it doesn't matter where, as long as she can roll around. Petting her very relaxes her. She often puts her butt down for scratching, but she also likes it when a person scratches her behind the ear. In rooms, with a small number of stimuli, she can calm down - she lies down and shows her belly, clearly relaxed. To passing dogs during walks, Basta is interested. When the other dog barks at her, she tends to get excited or - on the contrary - wants to leave the dog as quickly as possible. Her attitude towards other dogs through the fence is rather positive. At first she is shy, but after a moment she wants to play and gets very excited - sometimes even too much. Basta has not yet had a typical, direct contact with other dogs. It is possible that she could live with another dog, but it must be remembered that she has a problem with resting. The company of a dog with whom she would like to play all the time may not necessarily have a positive effect. Basta is looking for a home that will provide her with the right amount of exercise, activity, but at the same time will help her learn to rest and calm down.

Basta to bardzo energiczna, pozytywna suczka w typie TTB. Kocha ludzi i na widok każdej nowej osoby napotkanej podczas spaceru reaguje ogromną radością – jej tyłeczek zaczyna wtedy tańczyć z ekscytacji. Do mijanych psów podczas spacerów, Basta ciągnie zainteresowana.

About Basta

What life with Basta looks like

Basta is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Basta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Basta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Basta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Basta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Basta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Basta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Basta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
