Bean

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Β· Male Β· Puppy Β· 7 months

Bean would like owners who can be around most of the time initially, as he has had quite a turbulent puppyhood and needs some love and consistency to help him find his paws. He is in the throes of adolescence, so training and gentle socialising is going to be really benefit him. He may need some help with housetraining and getting used to household noises as this is all very new to him. Bean could live with adults only or a family with older teenagers who feel confident around excitable, bouncy dogs. He really is a sweet, loving boy, who with continued training is looking at a really bright future! Make sure to add Bean to your favourites! Bean is a sweet and endearing 7-month old Staffy cross who's had a difficult start to his young life. Since arriving at the centre he's made many friends and even has his own theme song '... Beans, Beans the wonderful toot!' This young lad is very energetic, bright and boisterous! With continued basic puppy / adolescence training and socialisation Beans will have so much to offer a new home! If you enjoy long walks and adventures followed by unwinding at the end of the day with a lovely snuggle, then Bean may just be the right boy for you!

About Bean

What life with Bean looks like

Bean is a puppy staffordshire bull terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Leeds in Leeds.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bean, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bean?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Leeds handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bean on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bean if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Leeds will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Bean already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bean isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Leeds early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bean and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
