Beethoven

Labrador Retriever · Male · Young · 3 years

DATE OF BIRTH: 4/05/2023 BREED: MIX OF LABRADOR WITH SIBERIAN HUSKY HEALTH: GOOD. Pending neutering. CHARACTER: Very intelligent and affectionate, and somewhat independent. He loves playing and interacting with trainers. He adores water (bathing in the pool), is very obedient and good-natured, and learns quickly. He forms strong bonds very fast. He needs understanding, affection, and care. He likes playing with the females. With males, he has not been tested and not with children, at first he can be a bit intense but then calms down. Due to his character, sometimes he may have a tantrum, but it passes quickly. He needs a family with some experience to enjoy his company and joy. For his adoption, it is necessary to make several visits to our animal shelter, as we need to work with him on leash walks. The ideal environment for him is a quiet one, not a central city area. To introduce Beethoven to a new home, it is important to contact an educator who can help with this adaptation process, create a stress-reduction program, and give basic handling and cohabitation guidelines. He needs his time and space. Beethoven is a rough diamond, with its pros and cons, that needs understanding and affection and will be an ideal companion for any activity. HISTORY: Comes from a surrender. He is a mix of Siberian Husky with Golden Retriever, with very high energy levels, for which the critical socialization stages were likely not correct, and therefore has some gaps. If you want to adopt, foster, or sponsor him, send a message to .

About Beethoven

What life with Beethoven looks like

Beethoven is a young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at SOS Golden in Spain.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beethoven, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beethoven?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Golden handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beethoven on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beethoven if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Golden will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beethoven already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beethoven isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Golden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beethoven and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
