Adopt Beka

Mixed Breed · Female

Beka is a true bundle of energy and would love to explore the whole world in just one day. She was found wandering around in Genovés, near Xativa. She was underweight but otherwise in good health. From the very beginning, she has been open and friendly toward all people as well as her new housemates at the animal shelter. Beka loves going for walks. She quickly learned that every Saturday is a highlight when volunteers arrive to take the dogs for walks. Beka then waits right by the gate, eager to be picked up. During the week, when she isn’t taken out for a walk, she plays with the other dogs at the animal shelter and enjoys having so many playmates. Even when she stayed with a foster family after a minor surgery, she showed her best side and got along well with the family’s resident dog. The foster family also reported that Beka has “ants in her pants” and is always up for any fun or game—except when it comes to sharing her food, which she clearly communicates without becoming aggressive. Car rides aren’t among Beka’s favorite activities yet and would need to be practiced gradually in small steps. Since all walks currently start directly from the animal shelter, she simply lacks experience and routine in this area. What would Beka’s perfect new home look like? A mix of excitement, fun, play, and a dose of relaxation and cuddles to end the day. Beka is definitely not a couch potato (except for those occasional cuddle breaks ;). Whether it’s a large garden to explore and/or long walks, hikes, and adventure outings, Beka joins in with great enthusiasm.

About Beka

What life with Beka looks like

Beka is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz Pur e.V. in Kettershausen.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Pur e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Pur e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Pur e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
