Bella

Female · Puppy · 10 months

Bella is a sweet and bright young girl who loves to play with her toys and learn new tricks. Although she can be a little worried by new people at first she quickly comes round once she realises there might be a tasty snack or two on offer. Bella enjoys her walks and is manageable on lead but she will need her new family to help build her confidence as she can be wary in unfamiliar situations. Once she knows you she loves a fuss and but she will let you know when she has had enough and she should be given the freedom to take herself away in these moments. She is a playful pup who loves to chase her toys around and is so much fun to spend time with. She loves her food and quickly picks up new tricks so would love a family who can offer her plenty of time to do this to keep her busy and build her confidence. Bella is looking for a home through no fault of her own and is fully house trained, so once settled could be left for around 3 hours without worry. She could live with children of high school age and potentially a calm and well matched dog following a successful meeting here at the centre, but no cats.

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dogs Trust Merseyside in Liverpool.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Merseyside handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Merseyside will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Merseyside early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
