Bella

Labrador Retriever · Female · Senior · 10 years

Bella, despite being an older girl, would love to get out and about for fun walks with her people. She is not currently house-trained, so will need a bit of structure surrounding this - however, she is incredibly foodie and will pick training up super quickly! Despite being so underweight, she has shown no signs of guarding around any resources. She is great for all handling, and just wants a big cuddle. We love miss Bella and we can't wait to see her thriving in her forever home! Meet Bella, our gorgeous 10-year old Collie X Lab looking for her forever home. Bella is a gorgeous girl, who loves everyone she meets. She adores human company and a big cuddle! She has lived with dogs in the past, but is currently a bit shouty when she sees them. We are working on this, but we think she could live with the right dog pending a successful meet in the centre! Bella is so sweet, she is able to be rehomed with children of any age. She walks well on lead, and loves a good sniffy adventure. She would love an active family willing to give her fun activities to keep her brain busy! Being an older girl, she loves cuddling up on the sofa just as much and would be a great family dog. Bella came into us severely underweight and with sore skin. She has a bald bum, but is feeling a lot better and more comfortable! Bella struggles being left on her own, so would need a family that are home for most of the day while this can be built up slowly. Bella has a heart of gold, she really will be the perfect girl!

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a large senior labrador retriever dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
